Valve Stem Oil Seals

The valve stem oil seal is a commonly used oil seal part, which is generally made of a metal frame and fluororubber combined by vulcanization. The metal frame is generally chrome steel, nickel-chrome steel, etc., which has high pressure bearing and wear resistance and can provide good support for the oil seal. The rubber material can be made of either nitrile rubber or fluororubber according to the requirements of the use environment. In some high-temperature environments, it is recommended to use fluororubber with better temperature resistance, which can be more widely used in some high-demand environments.

Valve stem oil seals are mainly used in automobile engines, motorcycle engines, aircraft engines, industrial internal combustion engines and other fields. Their main function is to prevent engine oil from entering the exhaust pipe, avoid oil loss, prevent the mixture of gasoline and air and exhaust gas leakage, prevent engine oil from entering the combustion chamber, and reduce carbon deposits and exhaust pollution.

It should be noted that if your car feels weak in acceleration or emits blue smoke during driving, it means that your valve oil seal has aged. For the aged valve stem oil seal, we need to replace it in time. When replacing and installing, we must first remove the carbon deposits and oil stains on the valve guide and stem, and ensure the cleanliness of the surface of the valve stem oil seal, check for deformation and damage, and avoid ineffective sealing. Next, apply an appropriate amount of lubricating oil on the valve stem, and then insert the valve oil seal into the valve guide so that the valve head and the valve seat ring fit tightly. Finally, check whether the valve part moves smoothly. You can also determine whether the valve seal is normal by testing the cylinder pressure and other methods.
